HIGH COURT OF BOMBAY AT GOA ISSUES ORDER ON NARAYAN SURYAKANT BORKAR V/S THE SAHA UDHAR URBAN CREDIT CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY REP. BY AUTH. REP. YESHWANT S. PHADTE AND ANR

GOA, India, Feb. 15 -- The High Court of Bombay at Goa issued the following order on Jan. 16:

Heard learned counsel for the parties.

2. Today, applicant as well as respondent no.1 filed application for compounding. Applicant has deposited an amount of Rs.15,000/- in this Court. Cheque amount was Rs.12,312/-. Learned Magistrate, apart from awarding simple imprisonment of 15 days, directed the applicant to pay compensation of Rs.15,000/- .Said order was confirmed by the Appellate Court.

3. Respondent no.1 is ready and willing to accept the amount of Rs.15,000/- which is deposited in this Court in order to compound the said offence.
