GUWAHATI, India, Sept. 5 -- Gauhati High Court issued the following order on Aug. 5:
1. Heard Mr. SSA Rahman, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner. Also heard Mr. R.J. Baruah, the learned Addl. Public Prosecutor, Assam.
2. This is an application under Section 397 read with Section 401 of the Criminal Procedure Code challenging the judgment and order dated 30.04.2012 passed by the learned learned Sessions Judge, Dhemaji in Criminal Appeal No.11(1)/2012 affirming the judgment dated 18.01.2012 passed by the learned Judicial Magistrate 1st Class Dhemaji in G.R. Case No.772/2010. In fact, the petitioner was convicted under Section 457 and 497 of the Indian Penal Code.
