The Ministry of Culture, through Raja Rammohun Roy Library Foundation (RRRLF), Kolkata-an autonomous organization-provides financial assistance for the development of public libraries across the country under its approved Matching and Non-matching Schemes. These schemes aim to support various initiatives such as enrichment of library resources, procurement of furniture, construction of library buildings, establishment of children's and knowledge corner, creation of facilities for Divyangjan readers, and modernization of library services through the provision of computers, printers, and related infrastructure.
