NEW DELHI, June 15 -- It was difficult for me to watch the video clip that showed a ruthless Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin kneeling on the neck of George Floyd and asphyxiating him to death. With his chest on the ground and two hands locked behind him, the African-American had been telling him that he was unable to breathe. Few could have even spoken under such circumstances!

Floyd's plea for life had no effect on the police officer who lifted his knee only after he was certain that his "acquaintance" was no more. His colleagues in uniform, Thomas Lane, J Alexander Kueng and Ton Thao preferred not to intervene and in doing so aided and abetted in his killing.
