NEW DELHI, Nov. 27 -- About two decades ago, senior journalist John Dayal startled the audience when he said that the maximum number of Ph.D. holders in communication were employed not by any media house but by the Catholic Church. I think there has not been any significant change in the situation, as the number of Catholic priests holding Ph.D. in communication has only been proliferating.

Yet, among the 10,000 saints in the Catholic Church, there is only one who was a practitioner of journalism. He died at the concentration camp at Dachau in Germany, which was the largest after the one at Auschwitz in Poland. Today, it is a museum where visitors like me are horrified to know what all a wicked leader like Adolf Hitler could do.
