India, Aug. 19 -- All those who expected a reinventing of the Congress party under the leadership of a young, energetic and vibrant leader are disappointed with the second coming of Sonia Gandhi as the interim Congress President. Failure to choose a leader outside the Nehru-Gandhi family shows the helplessness of the party. It appears that the Congress is bereft of both idealism and leadership. The response of the Congress leaders to the scrapping of article 370 of the Indian constitution and downgrading the Jammu and Kashmir state into two union territories has exposed the confusion and lack of direction in the Congress party.
