India, Dec. 15 -- James' nursing career began in 1985, during the early years of the global HIV/AIDS crisis. The challenges he faced during those formative years would lay the foundation for his career and academic pursuits. Initially, he believed that research was something "for others," but over time, his perspective shifted.
