India, Jan. 31 -- The Centre of Professional Development of Urdu Teachers (popularly known as the Urdu Academy), Aligarh Muslim University organized a week-long Urdu Refresher Course on "Teaching of Urdu Language and Literature: Modern Methods and Possibilities" for the school teachers belonging to the AMU schools.
Addressing the inaugural session of the programme, the chief guest, Director, Directorate of School Education, AMU, Prof Asfar Ali Khan said that Urdu is a major language in the world which came into existence with the mutual interaction of different cultures in India, and it is the need of the time to adopt technology based modern ways to teach Urdu.
