ALIGARH, April 21 -- Prof Tasneem Suhail has been appointed Chairperson of the Department of Hindi, Aligarh Muslim University, with effect from April 21, 2025. She will serve in this position until her superannuation on December 5, 2025.

Prof Suhail is an accomplished scholar with decades of teaching and research experience in Hindi literature. She began her academic journey with an M.Phil. from Aligarh Muslim University and a PhD from Agra University, focusing on a comparative study of Hindi and Urdu novels from the era of Prem Chand, titled "Purv Prem Chand Yugeen Hindi-Urdu Ke Upanyas Ka Tulnatmak Adhyan, 1880-1920".
