India, Nov. 21 -- The Government's notification bringing key provisions of the four Labour Codes into effect from 21 November 2025 marks an important milestone in India's ongoing effort to modernise its labour framework. The Codes, enacted between 2019 and 2020, consolidate 29 central labour laws that were largely framed in the 1930s to 1950s for a very different economic context.
