Pune, May 19 -- A 24-year-old suffering from relapsed Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) in brain area was successfully treated in Manipal Hospital Baner, Pune, using single-session Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS). Due to its location in an eloquent area of the brain, the lesion, which had previously been treated with GammaKnife in 2021, had recurred and posed a significant risk. Because the AVM, a tangled bundle of faulty blood vessels in the brain, was in an eloquent region important to necessary neurological functions, conventional neurosurgery was exceedingly risky.
