India, Dec. 12 -- Food processing sector is one of the largest employment provider in the organized manufacturing sector contributing 12.91% of employment in the total registered/organized sector as per the report of Annual Survey of Industries 2022-23. Food Processing sector accounts for 20.4% of exports in total Agri-food exports in 2024-25 and having share of 7.93 % of Manufacturing Gross Value Added (GVA) in the country during 2023-24 (as per 1stRevised Estimates).The Gross Value Added (GVA) in this sector has increased from Rs.1.34 lakh Crore in 2014-15 to Rs 2.24 lakh crore in 2023-24 (as per 1strevised estimates).
