New Delhi, March 11 -- At an high level event organised by GW Competition and Innovation Lab, USA with the World Trade Organisation (WTO) at Geneva last week, there was a consensus that the dialogue on embedding competition policy in the trade rubric should continue so that trade is both free and fair.

"At the time when trade protectionism and policy hindrances to domestic competition are peaking, the onus lies on civil society and academia of the world to advocate strongly for free and fair trade," says Pradeep Mehta, Secretary General, CUTS International.

Mehta spoke during an event titled "The Future of Competition & Trade in the Digital Economy" organised by GW Competition & Innovation Lab in the WTO premises on March 7, 2025.
