Aligarh, Jan. 30 -- Aligarh : In a major medical achievement, doctors at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital (JNMCH), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), successfully performed a complex bladder cancer surgery for the first time at the institution.
A 76-year-old patient from Aligarh district was treated by Dr. Parwez Alam and his surgical team from the Department of Surgery after he presented with a history of blood in urine. Following clinical evaluation, doctors initially carried out a Transurethral Resection of Bladder Tumor (TURBT), a minimally invasive procedure that allows removal of a bladder tumor through the urinary passage without any external incision.
