ALIGARH, May 7 -- Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed, from the Department of West Asian and North African Studies, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), presented an online research paper titled "The Yemen Crisis, Red Sea Security, and Role of External Forces: Navigating the Prospect" at a symposium titled, "Solutions to the Middle East Conflicts: The Roles of Gulf States and Global Powers," hosted by Georgetown University, Washington D.C.
The paper focused on the evolving geopolitical dynamics in the Red Sea region, particularly the ongoing Yemen conflict, the strategic significance of the Bab al-Mandab strait, and the involvement of global powers like the U.S., China, Iran, and the Gulf States.
