The programme commenced with an introduction by Mr. Sohrab Ali, PRT (Handloom), who highlighted the importance of handlooms in preserving Indian traditions and promoting sustainable livelihoods. He also administered a pledge to students and staff to respect, support, and promote the use of handloom products in daily life.
An audio-visual presentation on the process of handloom weaving was screened for students and staff, portraying the struggles, dedication, and artistry of traditional weavers. It carried the message that the Government of India emphasizes buying handloom products as they embody national pride and symbolize India's rich heritage.
