ALIGARH, Nov. 8 -- ALIGARH : A condolence meeting was held in the Department of Botany, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), to mourn the passing of Professor Surendra Kumar Saxena, a distinguished botanist and former Chairman of the department. Faculty members, research scholars, and staff attended the meeting to pay homage to the late professor and recall his lasting contributions to the department and the university.
Prof. Saxena, born on March 5, 1935, in Farrukhabad, passed away on November 3, 2025, at Gurgaon. He obtained his M.Sc. and Ph.D. from AMU, where he was among the first to receive a doctoral degree from the Department of Botany under the supervision of Late Prof. Abrar Mustafa Khan, regarded as the father of Nematology in India...
