Aligarh, Dec. 26 -- Aligarh :Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) celebrates the achievement of its alumnus Mr. Aman Alam, who has been elected as a Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society (RAS) of Great Britain and Ireland, one of the world's oldest and most esteemed academic institutions, founded in 1823. The recognition places him among an elite circle of global scholars contributing to the study of Asian history, literature and culture.
The RAS has historically included luminaries such as Rabindranath Tagore, Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, Viceroys Lord Northbrook and Lord Willingdon, Sir Malcolm Hailey, Sir W.W. Hunter, Sir Richard Burton, and noted historian William Dalrymple, affirming the prestige of this Fellowship.
