India, Jan. 3 -- A US teenager arrested for plotting a mass-casualty attack on New Year's Eve planned to carry out knife and hammer attacks at a grocery store and a fast-food restaurant in support of the Islamic State in Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS), officials said on Friday.

The suspect, identified as 18-year-old Christian Sturdivant, has been charged with attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organisation, according to federal authorities.
