New Delhi/IBNS, Feb. 24 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has nominated 10 public personalities to lead a campaign against obesity and excessive oil consumption.

The nominees are Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra, Bhojpuri singer-actor Nirahua, shooter Manu Bhaker, weightlifter Mirabai Chanu, actors Madhavan and Mohanlal, Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, singer Shreya Ghoshal and philanthropist-MP Sudha Murthy.

Modi has appealed to each of the 10 personalities to nominate 10 others in a bid to amplify the movement.

Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra has backed Prime Minister Modi's campaign against obesity.
