India, Dec. 12 -- Messaging app WhatsApp has rolled out a set of major updates ahead of the holiday season, introducing features like missed call messages, fun Status stickers, and enhanced Meta AI image generation.

The company said the upgrades are designed to make it easier for people to stay connected and express themselves in more creative ways.

* Missed call messages:

Holidays are often hectic, and you may not always catch someone on a call. If a call goes unanswered, users can now instantly record a voice or video note-based on the call type-so the recipient can listen or watch later. WhatsApp says this new system will make traditional voicemail "a thing of the past," according to its blog.
