India, July 12 -- Victoria (British Columbia)/IBNS: Virgin River is set to become Netflix's longest-running current original scripted series and as well as the longest-running English-language drama series with its eighth season, which is set for an early renewal.

The series has been renewed for Season 8 in less than a month after filming for the seventh season was concluded.

Produced by Reel World Management, Virgin River is based on the Virgin River novels by Robyn Carr.

Filmed in British Columbia, Canada, the first season of the series- which is shown to be set in the United States, premiered on December 6, 2019.
