Rampur/IBNS, April 17 -- An 11-year-old speech and hearing impaired girl was brutally raped in Uttar Pradesh's Rampur, in another shocking incident of assault on women, media reports said.

On Wednesday morning, she was discovered in a field in a naked and injured state.

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital which had referred her to Meerut for better treatment.

The accused, who has been identified as 24-year-old Dan Singh, was nabbed after police scanned CCTV footage.

Dr. Anju Singh, who conducted the girl's medical examination, did not rule out a rape incident by more than one person owing to multiple injuries on her private parts and said the victim was hit with a blunt object on face.
