India, April 18 -- At least six people were injured in a mass shooting incident at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, USA, on Thursday.

The university confirmed that the threat has been 'neutralised'.

Local media reports said the suspect has been taken into custody.

The six hospitalized individuals in Tallahassee following the shooting at Florida State University include the suspect, two law enforcement sources with knowledge of the situation told CNN.

Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare is "actively receiving and caring for patients" from the shooting, a spokesperson said in a statement to CNN. "At this time, details are still unfolding, and we do not yet have specific information to share."
