India, June 8 -- A US teen died after participating in a social trend called dusting, media reports said.

The deceased person was identified as 19-year-old Renna O'Rourke.

The death of the teen has left her parents devastated, and now they are trying to warn others against the trend.

The girl's father, Aaron O'Rourke, told AZFamily that she always wanted to become famous.

"She always said, 'I'm gonna be famous, Dad. Just you watch. I'm gonna be famous' and unfortunately this is not under the most optimal of circumstances," he said.

Her mother, Dana, told AZFamily, "There's no ID required. It's odourless. It's everything kids look for. They can afford it, they can get it, and it doesn't show in mom and dad's drug test."
