India, Jan. 19 -- The United States has invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to join the "Board of Peace", a body tasked with overseeing governance and reconstruction efforts in postwar Gaza, the Kremlin confirmed on Monday.

"President Putin received an invitation through diplomatic channels to become a member of this Board of Peace," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters, as quoted by The Moscow Times.

"At the moment, we are studying all the details of this proposal and hope to discuss its nuances with the American side," Peskov added.
