India, Oct. 20 -- A United Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8 flight from Denver to Los Angeles was forced to make an emergency landing last week after an unidentified object struck its cockpit windshield midair, injuring the pilot, according to US media reports.

United Airlines Flight 1093, carrying 134 passengers and six crew members, was cruising at about 36,000 feet near Moab, Utah, when the impact cracked one layer of the aircraft's multilayered windshield, Fox LA reported. The pilot sustained minor injuries, including scratches and bruises.

The aircraft rapidly descended 10,000 feet before diverting safely to Salt Lake City International Airport.
