India, April 23 -- United Nations Chief Antonio Guterres on Wednesday condemned the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's popular tourist destination Pahalgam that left 28 people killed.

UN Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric, responding to inquiries, emphasised the Secretary-General's condemnation of the attack.

Guterres extends his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, said Dujarric, underscoring "that attacks against civilians are unacceptable under any circumstances."

EU chief Ursula von der Leyen joined global leaders in condemning the attack and said the incident would not be able to break the spirit of India.
