India, Nov. 14 -- At least 16 people were injured after Russia carried out a large-scale aerial attack on Ukraine's Kyiv city early Thursday, with drone and missile strikes hitting multiple parts of the capital, according to local media reports.
Several explosions were reported in Kyiv beginning around 12:45 a.m. local time, according to The Kyiv Independent.
Two additional strikes were reported between 1 and 1:30 a.m.
"The Russians are striking residential buildings," Kyiv City Military Administration head Tymur Tkachenko told The Kyiv Independent.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko told the news portal that 11 multi-story buildings were struck in the overnight attack on Kyiv.
