India, Aug. 1 -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday confirmed that 31 people, including five children, have died after Russia launched an attack on Kyiv on Thursday.

In his X post, the President of the war-ravaged nation said: " Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko delivered a report. In Kyiv, emergency restoration works are ongoing at the sites affected by yesterday's attack. All search and rescue operations have already been completed. Unfortunately, as of now, 31 people have been confirmed dead, including 5 children."

He said the youngest person to have died in the attack is just 2 years old.

He further said: "The youngest was just two years old. My condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased."
