Washington/IBNS, Aug. 8 -- US President Donald Trump has said he intends to have no trade negotiations with India until the tariff issue is resolved.
Trump said this a day after he imposed a total of 50 percent tariff on all imports from India slamming the South Asian country for buying oil from Russia.
His remarks came after India held their ground with its Prime Minister Narendra Modi clearly stating he won't compromise on the interests of the country's farmers, livestock rearers and fishermen.
In a calm but strongly worded statement, New Delhi said the extra tariff was "unfair, unjustified and unreasonable" and declared that it would "take all actions necessary to protect national interests".
