India, Feb. 3 -- US President Donald Trump on Monday shared an image of New Delhi's iconic India Gate - a British-era war memorial - on his Truth Social platform, as he moves ahead with plans to construct what he calls the world's "greatest" triumphal arch in Washington, DC.

Posting the photograph of the Indian monument, Trump wrote: "India's beautiful triumphal arch, ours will be greatest of all."

The proposed structure, tentatively called the "Independence Arch," is intended to commemorate the 250th anniversary of American independence.

According to The Washington Post, Trump has become particularly enthusiastic about constructing a 250-foot-tall arch overlooking the Potomac River.
