India, Nov. 4 -- U.S. President Donald Trump has endorsed former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in his independent bid for New York City mayor, while urging voters to reject Democratic front-runner Zohran Mamdani, whom he labelled a "communist" and "a disaster for the city."

In a lengthy post on Truth Social on Sunday, Trump warned that he would curtail federal funding for New York if Mamdani were to win the mayoral race, claiming the city would face an "economic and social disaster."

"Economic and Social Disaster should Mamdani win. His principles have been tested for over a thousand years, and never once have they been successful," Trump wrote.
