Agra/IBNS, April 22 -- A 10-year-old girl's 48-hour hunger strike under the sun at 40 degree celcius forced the district administration to relocate a liquor shop from Kolara Kalan village of Shamshabad block in Agra, media reports said.

Anshika Sikarwar joined the protest after her father, Bunty Sikarwar, fell ill on Thursday.

The protests had started on April 1.

Villagers said the liquor shop was located at the road crossing connecting the village to the main city.

Anshika called off her strike after Uttar Pradesh state women's commission chairperson Babita Chauhan offered her water with a promise to relocate the shop.
