New Delhi/IBNS, April 25 -- The Supreme Court on Friday warned Leader of Opposition and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi over his remarks against India's independence activist Veer Savarkar, staying a trial court's summons to the senior politician, media reports said.

A top court bench comprising Justices Dipankar Dutta and Manmohan underlined Savarkar is "worshipped" in Maharashtra.

Rahul has been told that the court will take suo motu cognisance of any such remark by him.

Meanwhile, Rahul is presently in Jammu and Kashmir to meet the people who were injured in the Pahalgam terror attack which killed 26 tourists.
