New Delhi/IBNS, Dec. 2 -- The Supreme Court on Monday agreed to examine a petition filed by an NGO seeking the inclusion of individuals from persecuted minority communities - including Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Parsis and Jains from neighbouring countries - in electoral rolls while their applications for Indian citizenship remain pending.

Following brief submissions by senior advocate Karuna Nundy on behalf of the NGO 'Aatmadeep', a bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi listed the matter for hearing on December 9.

It will be taken up alongside petitions challenging the special intensive revision of the voter list in West Bengal.
