New Delhi/IBNS, Aug. 8 -- The Supreme Court on Friday recalled its previous order that removed Allahabad High Court judge Justice Prashant Kumar from criminal jurisdiction on Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai's request, media reports said.

The bench removed the judge for allowing criminal proceedings in a civil dispute case.

A group of Allahabad High Court judges had written to Chief Justice Arun Bhansali and urged him to call a full court meeting in view of the top court order that removed Justice Kumar from the criminal jurisdiction.

The top court bench of Justices Pardiwala and Mahadevan on Friday deleted its previous observation where it had slammed Justice Kumar.
