India, Feb. 21 -- The Indian government on Saturday said it has taken note of the US Supreme Court's ruling on tariffs and is closely studying the developments.

In a statement, the Ministry of Commerce & Industry said: "We have noted the US Supreme Court judgement on tariffs yesterday. President Trump has also addressed a press conference in that regard."

Uncertainty prevails over how much India will ultimately pay in tariffs to the United States after the Trump administration suffered a major setback from the US Supreme Court over its reciprocal tariff policy, media reports said.
