Kolkata/IBNS, Sept. 23 -- India's cricket icon Sourav Ganguly has returned as the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president replacing his brother and former cricketer Snehasish Ganguly.

Sourav Ganguly returned to the top post on Monday after Snehasish completed his six-year-tenure cap.

This will be Sourav Ganguly's second stint as the CAB president, the post he held earlier from 2015 to 2019.

Ganguly's first big assignment will be India's first Test against South Africa at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on November 14-18.

This will be India's first match in the longest format at this venue since they played the Pink Ball Test against Bangladesh in 2019.
