Mumbai/IBNS, Nov. 29 -- What was expected to be a grand, star-studded wedding has now turned into a swirl of speculation and unanswered questions.

Weeks after India's Women's World Cup triumph, batting star Smriti Mandhana was scheduled to marry music composerPalaash Muchhalon November 23. But the ceremony never took place.

On the morning of the wedding, Smriti's father, Shrinivas Mandhana, suddenly fell ill and had to be rushed to the hospital.

A day later, Palaash too was admitted to a hospital in Sangli-Mandhana's hometown-and was subsequently moved to Mumbai.

Smriti's business manager later issued a statement confirming that the wedding had been postponed owing to the medical emergencies.
