The toss, Dec. 18 -- The fourth T20 International between India and South Africa in Lucknow on Wednesday was called off without a single ball being bowled after dense fog and poor visibility made play impossible.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said umpires conducted multiple inspections at 6:50 pm, 7:30 pm, 8:00 pm, 8:30 pm and again at 9:00 pm, but conditions failed to improve. Following a final inspection at 9:25 pm, officials decided to abandon the match.
While fog was cited as the official reason for the washout, several players and fans pointed to severe air pollution as a key factor.
