India, April 15 -- American pop sensation Katy Perry and five others wrote their names in history books when they became the first all-women crew members of Blue Origin's New Shepard spacecraft that travelled to space briefly and then safely returned home on Monday.
The rocket was built by a space company owned by Amazon chief Jeff Bezos.
The unique journey lasted for 11 minutes.
The spacecraft travelled over 100km (62 miles) above Earth and crossed the Karman line.
It is the intentionally recognised boundary margin of space.
The passengers experienced weightlessness for a few minutes before returning home.
The spacecraft was fully autonomous and was controlled remotely.
