India, Dec. 6 -- The theatrical release of the Telugu fantasy action drama Akhanda 2 has been postponed after the Madras High Court on Friday imposed a restraining order on the film over an ongoing financial dispute.

The film was slated to release on December 5.

The controversy stems from a liability of Rs.27.70 crore that 14 Reels Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., a group company of the film's producer 14 Reels Plus LLP, allegedly owes to Eros International Media Ltd. The pending dues prompted Eros to seek court intervention ahead of the film's scheduled December 5 release.

A division bench of Justices S.M. Subramaniam and Kumarappan restrained the release of Akhanda 2 "in any form," affecting its theatrical, digital and satellite rollout.
