New Delhi/IBNS, Feb. 8 -- In a strongly worded statement, India Friday said comments attributed to former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have been made in her individual capacity and New Delhi has no role to play in it.
Responding to media queries, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal explained why Bangladesh Acting High Commissioner to India Md Nurul Islam was summoned by the MEA on Friday.
He said conflating comments made by Hasina in her individual capacity with India's position is not good for bilateral ties.
These statements by Bangladesh are in fact responsible for the persistent negativity," Mr Jaiswal said.
