Chandigarh/IBNS, Dec. 1 -- The much-talked-about Haryana number plate 'HR88B8888' - which grabbed headlines last week after fetching a record-breaking bid of Rs 1.17 crore - will now be reauctioned after the winning bidder failed to pay the amount within the deadline.

Sudhir Kumar, Director at Romulus Solutions Private Limited, had secured the VIP number plate after two days of intense online bidding, making it the most expensive vehicle number ever sold in India.

The payment deadline was set for 12 pm on December 1, but the amount was not deposited.

Kumar claimed on Sunday that he attempted to make the payment twice on Saturday night but was unsuccessful due to a technical issue.
