India, April 11 -- Rotary Club Calcutta West Ridge has organised a creative writing competition among school and college students on Sister Nivedita's contributions to India.
The award-giving ceremony was held recently at the Shivananda Hall, Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture in Kolkata.
Sister Nivedita was born in Ireland, came to India as a disciple of Swami Vivekananda, and gave her life for the development of India in all respects.
A total of 53 students were given prizes on the occasion. The participating schools included Sister Nivedita Girls School, DPS NewTown, RamKrishna Mission, Narendrapur, and Bethune Collegiate School, among others.
The program was largely attended by students.
