India, Oct. 19 -- Ranchi: Rohit Sharma showed his dominance with the bat in the longest format of the game as he smashed 117 runs to help India post 224 runs for the loss of three wickets in the Indian first innings against South Africa in the ongoing third Test match here on Saturday.

Agarwal (12), Virat Kohli (12) and Pujara (0) departed early but Ajinkya Rahane steadied the ship by remaining unbeaten at 83.

This was Rohit's third 100 plus score in the ongoing Test series.
