Mumbai/IBNS, Aug. 2 -- Bollywood stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt have expressed their excitement after their 2023 Hindi film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani bagged a National Film Award.

Directed by Karan Johar, the film has bagged the award for Best Popular Film Providing Whole Entertainment.

The film, which went on to become a superhit, was the directorial comeback of Karan Johar.

After his film claimed the honour, Karan wrote in an Instagram story, "Deeply humbled and overwhelmed with the outpouring of love for our film... ROCKY AUR RANI KII PREM KAHAAANI... Heartfelt gratitude to the Chairperson, illustrious Jury, the @mib_india for this incredible honour...and a big heart to the audiences...
