New Delhi, April 24 -- Israel's foreign intelligence agency, Mossad, reportedly carried out a clandestine cyberattack on the home servers of Sam Pitroda, chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress and a close political advisor to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

According to a report by Sputnik India, which cites unnamed sources, the operation aimed to uncover potential links between India's opposition leadership and Hindenburg Research, whose report last year caused a major financial storm for the Adani Group.

Citing its sources, Sputnik India said that the agency's infiltration allegedly uncovered encrypted chatrooms and undisclosed communication channels involving Pitroda's US-based servers.
