India, July 11 -- Tennis player Radhika Yadav, who was shot dead by her father at her home in Haryana's Gurugram, wanted to be a social media influencer like popular YouTuber Elvish Yadav.

Yadav reportedly belonged to her village.

According to ACP Yashwant, Radhika's father, Deepak Yadav, spent over Rs 2.5 crore on her tennis training, India Today reported.

Sources told India Today Radhika had assured her father that she wouldn't let their efforts go in vain.

"Papa, I have enough content in my mind. I've played enough. I will now earn money," she had told him after an injury sidelined her from tennis.
